Thames & Kosmos Exit: The Game is a series of card-based games centered around how your team can escape from a particular room or other location where you are trapped. You will need to work through puzzles and clues to get yourself out.
The game is an 'escape room in a box for 1 to 4 players.
There is no game board. No app or device is necessary either. Everything you need is in the box. However, you will find it helpful to have a pencil, eraser, paper, and scissors to hand. A watch or stopwatch to check the time would be beneficial as well, as the time taken to complete the game affects your score.
In all the games, you are locked in a room, and using teamwork and your powers of deduction, you need to work through puzzles and clues to get yourself out.
When you start to play, you only have a book and decoder available, and as the game progresses, you can add in the Riddle Cards, then the other aids.
Exit games take up to a couple of hours to complete and need up to four players to work as a team. Depending on the difficulty rating, they are suitable for kids aged 12 years and older.
These games are for single use only as the game materials may need to be marked, torn, cut, or folded as the riddles are solved so you can escape. Even though this will be a one-time experience per game, older kids and adults will have loads of enjoyment here with a game that all the family can play together.

You can see above that there is an extensive list of titles. One of the easy Exit games is the best place to start. EXIT: The Sunken Treasure, for instance, will find you trapped underwater while looking for the fabled treasure of the Santa Maria at an old shipwreck.
